Brad Pitt is getting support from his girlfriend Ines de Ramon in the wake of his mother’s death.
After Jane Etta Pitt died on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at age 84, a source tells PEOPLE that de Ramon “is supporting Brad as he grieves his mother's loss. She wants to be there for him and Brad is very much letting her be that person."
Another source tells PEOPLE that de Ramon, 35, has been sending love to the Pitt family. “Ines is really close with Brad’s family as well,” they say. The jewelry designer “immediately reached out to send her condolences as soon as she heard the news.”
Jane, a retired school counselor who raised her family in Springfield, Missouri, is survived by her husband William, their three kids — Brad, 61, and his two younger siblings, brother Doug and sister Julie — and 14 grandkids. The Ocean’s Eleven star’s niece Sydney (daughter of Doug) paid tribute to Jane on Instagram Wednesday, Aug. 6, saying she had "the biggest heart" and "cared deeply for everyone and everything, no questions asked."
Around the time of his mother’s death, Brad had been shooting the Netflix film The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a David Fincher-directed sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, for which Pitt won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
De Ramon has been dating Brad since late 2022, making a red carpet debut with him at the 2024 Venice Film Festival premiere of Wolfs last September. Recently, she joined him at several premiere events for F1, the hit racing drama led and produced by the Oscar winner.

Jane was mourned and celebrated in an obituary recently shared with PEOPLE that highlighted her relationship with her grandkids. "Known affectionately as Grammy, Jane found immense joy in celebrating each grandchild’s uniqueness through one-on-one traditions lovingly known as 'Your Special Day.' These treasured moments remain among the fondest memories for all 14 of her grandchildren," they wrote.
